Staying lower in the valley will suit beginners as the sides of the mountains steepen the higher up you get. Though those with a nose for navigation will be able to find some lengthy and gentle blues worth ascending for, especially off the number 30 gondola and 26 chair.

Sestriere for Intermediate Skiers:

Intermediates will have lots of fun challenging themselves on the steep sides of Sestriere’s Mount Motta, before heading over to get lost in the thick forests above Sauze d’Oulx.

Sestriere for Expert Skiers:

Guiding Sestriere

As with most resorts, the best runs for experts can be found high up on the peaks. Most of the runs down from the 17 and 18 chairs are reds and blacks and will offer the most in terms of a challenge. Be sure to catch the KN line off the top of 18 that runs all the way down to the town. It’s the best on the mountain for experts.
